LexBooks pricing
- $19 a month per firm, whatever the number of users.
- Every feature is included. There are no tiers and no per-user fees.
- 30 days free from sign-up, with no card needed to start.
What is included
- Matters and contacts. Open a matter, link the client and other parties, and keep notes, tasks and deadlines with it.
- Time and expenses. Record time with a timer or by hand, and log expenses against each matter.
- Invoices. Make invoices from your time and expenses, record payments, and see what is still owed. Clients can pay online into your firm's own payment account, if you connect one.
- Proposals and engagement letters. Send a letter your client reads and signs online. You get the signed copy with a record of when and how it was signed.
- Calendar. Court dates, deadlines and tasks in one calendar.
- Documents. Keep files with the matter they belong to.
- Trust ledger. Record trust ledger entries for each client. Your bank holds the funds; your firm remains responsible for its trust account.
- Optional AI drafts. Time-entry text, matter summaries and proposal drafts, each for you to review. Off until your firm turns it on.
- Export. Download your workspace at any time as one file.
How billing works
- 30 days free from sign-up. No card is needed to start.
- When the trial ends, your workspace becomes read-only until you add a card. You can still open and export everything.
- Sales tax, where it applies, is worked out from your billing address and shown at checkout.
- Cancel at any time from the Plan page. The plan runs to the end of the month already paid.
- Members of the California Lawyers Association get 50% off for four months from the day you subscribe. Enter your member code when you subscribe.
What LexBooks does not do
- Court rules-based deadline calculation. The calendar holds the dates you enter.
- Document assembly beyond proposals and engagement letters.
- General accounting: no general ledger, payroll or tax filing. Use your accountant's software alongside it.
- Few integrations: Stripe for client payments into your own account, and Dealroom for contracts. No accounting or calendar sync.
